At we are full of optimism for the year ahead. After being involved with the startup community for many years, we can honestly say that we think the Pikes Peak region is in a good place for small businesses and entrepreneurs. Here are our top three reasons to be optimistic:

  1. Positive Political Environment

In 2015, Colorado Springs saw the political atmosphere move from constant controversy to collaboration with a new mayor and new council members. With attention now being spent on infrastructure while maintaining some of lowest taxes in Colorado, Colorado Springs is a good place to start a new business.

  1. Growing Entrepreneurial Community

Since 2012 there has been signs of a growing entrepreneurial community based in downtown Colorado Springs. With places like Epicentral Coworking, Ivywild & Catalyst Campus there are now multiple locations where entrepreneurs can gather and share ideas. Events like Startup Week and the weekly One Million Cups presentations display the strength and commitment of the community.

  1. Excellent Support Services

The area is home to several organizations that have proven that they are important contributors to the small business and entrepreneurial community. The award-winning Pikes Peak Small Business Development Center has expanded their outreach bringing consultants and classes to cities and towns throughout the region. Other organizations who have provided excellent support include SCORE, Peak Startup, the Regional Business Alliance, the Tri-Lakes Chamber of Commerce, the Downtown Partnership, and many more.

The community and the support systems are poised for new opportunities and new growth. It’s up to you to embrace the changes and build something remarkable!
